BTW what's so bad about iTunes? I have to admit I am running windoze, rather than linux, but at least I thought I was doing good when I switched from Windoze media player to itunes.
Apple is trying to do with online music what Microsoft was trying to do with operating systems. It's a digital rights management thing - iTunes is Apple's means of locking people into their online distribution.
