Dude, Cutlunch Commando sounds pretty iffy....

Well it was a derogatory term at the time as well. I spent a couple of weeks working in the company store in Linton doing an inventory. On a few occasions I dined in the enlisted mess, and heard that phrase alongside "weekend warrior" and "cannon fodder".
