A little trip back to the dark ages

In Kansas, a school would not allow an official to call a basketball game in which one of their teams was playing. Why? Because the offical was female, whereas the game was between two male teams.
The reason given, according to the referees: Campbell, as a woman, could not be put in a position of authority over boys because of the academy's beliefs.

This school is St. Mary's Academy and is operated by the Society of St. Pius X, which follows older Roman Catholic laws. I can only guess that there desire not to have a woman placed in a position of authority over men comes from this particualr bible references (or another similar one).
[11] Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
[12] But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
[13] For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
[14] And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
